About Kathleen Clyde

Kathleen ClydeKathleen Clyde was born and raised in Garrettsville, Ohio. Prior to filing for candidacy in the 68th District, she served as Deputy Legal Counsel to the Speaker of the Ohio House of Representatives. She has also worked for the Ohio Secretary of State and the Ohio Senate.

Kathleen is a member of the Portage County, Ohio, and American Bar Associations. She is also on the Board of Directors for Equal Justice Works, a national organization dedicated to encouraging young lawyers to pursue careers in public interest law or public service.

Kathleen graduated from The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law in 2008 as a Public Service Fellow with the Dean's Highest Honors. While at OSU, Kathleen was President of the Public Interest Law Foundation and an editor of the law review. In 2001, Kathleen earned her bachelors degree in English Literature from Wesleyan University in Connecticut.

Between law school and college, Kathleen worked for two years at the Community Shelter Board, an organization nationally recognized for its approach to ending homelessness in Ohio. She then joined the John Kerry for President campaign as the Statewide College Coordinator, where she was charged with organizing student voters on all 120 college and university campuses in Ohio.

Kathleen graduated at the top of her class from Garfield High School in Garrettsville, where she was an All-Portage County track & field athlete. Kathleen currently resides in Kent, Ohio.
